Description
Nancy Friend and John Currence & Their Descendants of Randolph Co., VA (now WV)
Featuring Alsey Elsey Currence
by
Patty (Friend) ThompsonNancy Friend was a daughter of Jonas Friend, granddaughter of Israel Friend, great granddaughter of Andrew (Anders) Friend and great, great granddaughter of Nils Larsson Friend.
Nancy was born in the late 1750’s in Virginia. Her mother was Sarah Skidmore. She married John Currence about 1783, son of William Currence and Lydia Steele.
Nancy and John Currence, became the parents of nine known children. She was a widow when her life ended in 1851. She was buried in the Currence – Wamsley Cemetery, in her home county of Randolph in WV.
Having very limited information for Nancy Friend in the form of records, this book concentrates mainly on Nancy’s daughter, Alsey Elsey Currence with her husband, Asahel Heath and her family of eleven known children.
This book is a 459 page documented record presented by the author in an effort to preserve the life of Nancy Friend and Alsey Elsey Currence. Since no personal diaries or documented stories written by Nancy or Alsey Elsey themselves their lives are represented in the form of US Census records, transcribed deeds, wills, photographs, obituaries, newspaper articles, military documents, birth, marriage and death records in an effort to record their families history before it is lost to time.
Spiral bound books are Black and White and the USB, Download and CD formats are color copies.
