Lavina Susan Savage, daughter of Karrenhappuck Friend of Garrett Co., MD
by
Patrick T. SmithLavina (Lavinia) Susan Savage lived in Sand Spring, a beautiful area in the Northwestern corner of Garrett Co., MD. Lavina was the daughter Karrenhappuck (Kerrenhappuck) Friend and John Robinson Savage, Jr. She was the great granddaughter of John Friend, Sr., founder of (what would become) Friendsville, MD and the patriarch of the Garrett County Friends. Lavina was the four times great granddaughter of Nils Larsson Friend (Frande), a Swedish immigrant who came to the New World in 1648.
Lavina and her family were first presented with four-pages of the book Karrenhappuck Friend and John Robinson Savage of Sang Run, MD. I incorrectly listed Lavina (Lavinia) Susan Savage, as Laura Susan Savage at the time. Shortly after publishing, I was contacted by Tammy Jeanne (Moyers) Livengood the two times great granddaughter of Lavina Susan Savage (Ringer). Tammy and her cousin Frank Lambert had assembled a solid genealogical history, which sorts the confusing and contradictory accounts of Lavina Susan Savage, Adam Ringer and their known children (Mary, Martha and Rebecca Jane and John Ison Ringer). Their original research has been supplemented and expanded with birth, death and marriage records as well as material from the US Census, land deeds, wills, estate documents, photographs, and military records.
Spiral bound books are Black and White and the USB, Download and CD formats are color copies.
