Karrenhappuck Friend and John Robinson Savage of Sang Run, MD
    by
    Patrick T. Smith

Karrenhappuck (Kerrenhappuck) Friend was the daughter of John Friend Jr. and Elizabeth Ward. Karrenhappuck was the 3x great granddaughter of Nils Larrson Friend (Frande), a Swedish immigrant who came to the New World in 1648, settling in what would become Chester, PA. Karrenhappuck was born in the Northwestern part of MD in 1802 and named after her parental grandmother (Karrenhappuck/ Kerrenhappuck Hyatt), the wife of John Friend Sr., patriarch of the Friend family of Garrett Co., MD. Karrenhappuck married John Robinson Savage, and with at least six children (Laura Susan Savage, Eliza E. Savage, Ur Thomas J. Savage, Elizabeth Jane Savage, Savilla M. Savage, Mary Savage), lived out her life on a farm two miles West of present day Friendsville, MD. The material in this book was collected from hundreds of sources which include the US Census, family bibles, land deeds, wills, estate documents, photographs, personal histories, military accounts as well as birth, death and marriage records. This book attempts to present a small glimpse into the lives of Karrenhappuck, John, their children and thousands of descendants. Additionally, one daughter (Savilla M. Savage) and her extended family, are only briefly outlined in this book.

Spiral bound books are Black and White and the USB, Download and CD formats are color copies.
