Description
John Friend Sr. of Friendsville, MD (1st edition)
by
Patty (Friend) ThompsonWe are pleased to announce the next book in the series of the Friend Family. This book entitled “John Friend Sr. of Friendsville, MD” by Pat (Friend) Thompson focuses on the founder of Friendsville MD, the patriarch of the Friend Family in Garrett County, MD. This is the first major work on “Old John” and his descendents since Evelyn G. Olsen’s “Indian Blood” (1967). This book was assembled over a twelve year period, gathering and meticulously correlating vast amounts of information about John Friend Sr. and his descendants. This book lists the pedigree of John Friend Sr. and will be presented in an outline format. The book includes transcriptions of family histories, Bible records, land deeds, US Census data, death certificates and military records. Several hundred photographs (of people, places, US Census images, maps, Civil War pension papers and gravestone images) have also been incorporated in to the book. Because of the enormous volume of information, two of John Friend Sr.‘s sons (John Jr. and Joseph) will be featured in the future books. John Jr. and Joseph Friend as well as their descendents are briefly covered in this book. This book is 446 pages in length, fully indexed and presented in an outline format. Pat Thompson can be contacted through the Friend Family Association of America (FFAA) at Friendsville, MD or by e-mail through the FFAA web-site. This book has but one goal and that is to preserve the information about John Friend Sr. and his family before it is lost to time.
The initial cost of printing the book has been donated to the FFAA. One hundred percent of the all book sales go the FFAA. The FFAA is a tax exempt organization, so all sales are tax deductible.
Spiral bound books are Black and White and the USB, Download and CD formats are color copies.
