    David Hoye Friend
    (Son of Elijah Friend)
    Book I
    by
    Patrick T. Smith

David Hoye Friend was born Sang Run, MD in 1845.  He was the son of Elijah Friend (1814 to 1869), grandson John Friend Jr. (1764 to 1849) and Elizabeth Ward (1778 to 1845). His paternal great grandfather was John Friend Sr. (1728 to aft 1808), founder of Friendsville, MD.  David would marry Mary “Molly” Jane Geary, daughter of Cornelius and Annette Garey. David and Mary would settle to the West of Friendsville on the Old Frantz Farm that was part of Kensington and the Blooming Rose plots. They would raise a family of at least ten children and live out their lives on their farm. Both would eventually be laid to rest in the Blooming Rose Cemetery. The histories of these books were formed with birth, marriage, death and burial records and expanded with the US Census, family bibles, books, land deeds, wills, estate records, photographs, personal histories and military accounts. The first book in this series will feature the information on David Hoye Friend and his first three children (Eliza Ellen Friend, Lizzie Mae Friend and Frederick Smith Friend). A second and possibly third books will present the part of the lives of remaining children (Ada Alice Friend, Ralph Reverly Friend, Richard Henry Friend, John Thomas Friend, Harold David Friend, Cornelius Ray Friend and Archibald Chase Friend). If a child is featured in one book, they will be briefly outlined in the corresponding book or books.

Spiral bound books are Black and White and the USB, Download and CD formats are color copies.
