Acceptable Use Policy
Contributor: Person donating information to be posted on the FFAA web site.
User: Person using contributed data from the FFAA web site.
Being a member supported organization, the Friend Family of America, Inc., does not own the rights to the material in its collection.
All data on the Friend Family Association of America, Inc. web site shall retain publication rights of the original author in accordance with US Copyright Laws and Regulations. Data governed by Copyright Laws and Regulations should not be included in contributed data without including the “permission to use statement” from the original owner or author. (The “Permission to use statement” simply means the original owner or author of a publication gives permission in writing to the requesting party to use their work.)
By the act of contributing data, the contributors agrees to allow the “use” of their data by other researchers for personal genealogical research only
The User by the act of using contributed data agrees to credit the contributor as being the Source of any contributed information used in their personal genealogy files.
Users who wish to publish contributed data or to copy contributed data to other Internet sites from the FFAA website, should first obtain the written permission from the contributor or original owner.
The electronic pages belonging to the FFAA shall NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or commercial use.
Contributors, by the act of submitting information to the FFAA web site, give the FFAA permission to store the files permanently for free access. The FFAA warrants no guarantees against loss of information and reserves the right to close the web site without notice.
Contributed Data and Posted Queries
Data contributed to the Friend Family Association of America, Inc. web pages shall contain appropriate content suitable for genealogical research and family history. It will be the responsibility of the Contributor to avoid violation of Copyright laws and/or the rights of others. Contributed data will be posted by the FFAA “AS IS”. Contributed data or posting of genealogical information to the FFAA web site is to exclude all information of any living person.
The FFAA makes no representations concerning the suitability, reliability, or accuracy of the contributed or posted content. Contributions containing advertisements and/or political statements, (other than historical in nature) are prohibited on the FFAA web site.
It shall be at the sole discretion of the FFAA Board of Trustees to remove any contributed data or postings that it finds (or is brought to the attention of the Board of Trustees of the FFAA in writing that is believed to be) inappropriate and includes but is not limited to statements that are deemed fraudulent, abusive obscene, indecent, defamatory, or otherwise illegal. In the event the FFAA determines or suspects any content to be illegal, such information may be forwarded to legal authorities.
User ID and Passwords
Some sections of this web site may require a User ID and password. It will be the sole responsibility of the user to maintain the confidentially of their ID and password and they agree not to share their ID and password with other individuals. No member using the above mentions sites shall infringe upon the User Identification of others.
